4th of July: Stars and Stripes Matchbooks

It’s hard to believe 4th of July is one week from today! It seems like just yesterday we were welcoming June and now it’s July. I can’t wait to head to Asheville, NC next Friday to taste some delicious beer, visit the Biltmore and spend quality time with my family visiting from St. Louis. Do you have any big plans for 4th of July?

I have some great memories of watching big 4th of July firework shows with friends and family as kid. But, my brother and I also loved stopping by a fireworks booth to pick up smoke bombs, black snakes, poppers and my favorite, sparklers! Of course you will need matches to light any of these fireworks and what could be better than a custom stars & stripes matchbook?

To create your own festive matchbooks, you will need plain matchboxes (I found mine at the grocery store), the stars and stripes printable, scissors and glue. When you have printed the template, cut out the wrapper, fit it to the matchbox and glue all three sides down, leaving the striker exposed. You will quickly have custom patriotic matches. They also make a great addition to a candle or other hostess gift.

Have a wonderful weekend!
