Birthday Week Funfetti Cupcakes with Chez CateyLou

All good birthday parties have a sweet treat for guests to indulge. I didn’t think twice about who to ask to put together a treat for Twin Stripe’s third birthday other than baker extraordinaire and friend, Cate of Chez CateyLou. Cate bakes up  delicious donuts, cookies and more in her tiny Manhattan kitchen and shares them on her blog. Today she is sharing her recipe for mini funfetti cupcakes, perfect for celebrations big and small.

What is Chez CateyLou about and how long have you been blogging?
Chez CateyLou is a food and travel blog. Chez (pronounced “shay”) is a French word meaning “at the home of”. I started my blog 2 years ago to share my home and my life with my readers, hence the name! I love sugar and baking, so most of my recipes tend to be sweet. I have a passion for traveling and enjoy being able to share my experiences with others. I live in NYC so you will also find some NYC tips and restaurant reviews thrown in the mix!

What is your favorite Twin Stripe post?
It is hard to choose one, but I really like the Valentine’s Day treat bags: I’m donuts for you! I have a thing for donuts, and I thought this was such a fun idea for a Valentine’s Day treat!

What is a little known fact about Cate/Chez CateyLou?
Honestly can’t think of a good answer to this one…I hate bananas and maple syrup.

Why did you decide to create funfetti cupcakes for Twin Stripe’s birthday?
Nothing says “Birthday” to me quite like sprinkles and cupcakes. I thought mini funfetti cupcakes would be the perfect thing to serve at a birthday party! They are cute, delicious, and are a great way to celebrate a birthday!

What advice do you have to share with Katie and other bloggers?
Katie already knows this, but stay organized! Use a calendar, stick to a schedule, keep things orderly – blogging is really hard work, but it is much easier and more manageable if you are organized. Also, support the blogging community. I am constantly amazed at how supportive, helpful, and friendly other bloggers are. I have made so many friends through blogging and have learned so much from others.
