Sangria is one of my favorite warm weather beverages. I love the combination of fruit juices and wine. As I was debating a Mother’s Day brunch cocktail, it hit me – sparkling sangria! This Mother’s Day, treat your mom to a refreshing sparking sangria.
This delicious sangria blends two of my favorite things, sparkling wine and mixed berries. It will be the perfect accompaniment to your Mother’s Day brunch or a warm spring or summer day.
Sparkling Sangria - makes 1 pitcher
1 bottle sparkling wine
2 cups mixed berries (I used strawberries, blueberries and raspberries)
1 lemon, cut into wedges
1 cup sparkling water
St. Germain Liqueur
In a pitcher, put two cups mixed berries and lightly muddle. Next, add lemon wedges, squeezing them before putting them in the pitcher. Pour the sparkling wine, sparkling water and St. Germain (to taste) in next and mix. Refrigerate 2-3 hours. Serve over ice with extra berries.
