Looking for the perfect party decoration for an upcoming event? These DIY celebration pennants will add festive flair to any party!
A few weeks ago, I was invited to a surprise birthday party for my friend Susannah of Feast + West. I offered to help craft some party decor for the event at Sycamore Brewing in Charlotte. I decided to make colorful celebration pennants with fun messages on them. When placed in beer bottles spray painted gold, they made easy centerpieces. Keep on reading to learn how to make your own pennants.
- Printed out words/phrases
- Wooden dowel
Begin this project by printing out words or phrases on your printer. (For example: cheers, happy birthday and more.) I used a font called Blackout because the letters are easy to cut out. Once you have printed your words, cut out each letter and trace it onto the piece of felt with a Sharpie. Carefully cut each letter out of the piece of felt.
When you have cut out all of the letters, cut another piece of felt into a triangle. Glue the letters on the triangle pennant piece. Once the letters are secure, glue the wooden dowel to the back side of the pennant. Place the pennant in a vase, bottle or just hang on the wall for a festive decoration.
These celebration pennants are great for a variety of occasions because they are easy to customize. They could work as place cards, wall decor, a centerpiece and more. How would you use these fun DIY pennants?
