The fall is the perfect time to get together and rekindle a relationship with your significant other or a best friend. Chad and I planned an autumn date night filled with cozy comfort foods, fancy grilled cheese and creamy tomato soup. I added some fall flowers and colorful gourds and our evening was complete.
I dressed my table with a neutral pallet and added pops of colors in the napkins, flowers, gourds and straws. I DIYed the geometric pumpkin napkins with a stencil I created. It added a special touch to our table top.
We started our meal with a creamy bowl of tomato soup. Even a can of Campbell’s Tomato Soup with a can of milk is a perfect fall luxury.
We then grilled up four different combinations of grilled cheese. We used a fresh baked loaf of Italian bread. My favorite combination was was brie and fig spread. Chad loves the bacon, avocado and pepper jack. We also enjoyed double cheese and cheddar, apple and spicy mustard sandwiches.
We laughed and enjoyed our grilled cheese over pumpkin ales. We finished the meal with a no-fuss dessert, our favorite maple leaf cookies from Trader Joe’s and a few candy corn for good measure.
Catching up over tasty grilled cheese and tomato soup makes for a perfect fall date night. Be creative with your sandwich making, you never know what you might come up with!
Come back this afternoon for an adorable fancy grilled cheese illustration.
