If you couldn’t tell from my last post, I am getting excited for Halloween! I love the decor, the spookiness, and of course, dressing up. What’s better than being able to put on a costume and be someone else for the day? My friend Maryssa throws a fabulous annual Halloween party in Brooklyn, aptly named the Werewolf Bar Mitzvah. Now that I’m only an hour from New York, I can finally attend this year, which means I need to come up with a costume.
While I like to dress up, I don’t really like to break the bank — that’s why I try to find and use items I already have or I know that I’ll wear again. Check out these interpretations on a few classic costumes using items I know you’ve already got in your closet.
Make sure to check out some of your favorite retailers for inspiration. American Apparel does a great job highlighting Halloween on their site. Their clothes and accessories can be pretty unique, which makes them great for costumes. They’ve got great examples (in gif form no less) and they’re also running a costume contest.
