Summer Travel

We are leaving for Ireland in less than two weeks–I can hardly believe it! I’ve been busy making to do and packing lists. I’ve been very lucky to have traveled outside of the country a few times and have learned a thing or two.

Travel Tips

1. Having your luggage lost for over a week is no fun and there is no way to prevent it if you check a bag. Instead, be sure to pack a few pairs of undergarments and extra outfit (or swimsuit) in your carry on, like this adorable Kate Spade Saturday zig-zag weekender bag. I love all of the pockets to organize gear.

2. I also like to pack my toiletries, like makeup, toothpaste and other essentials, in my carry on. I use a lined Vera Bradley cosmetic bag when I travel. If anything spills, it is very easy to clean up. A makeup kit, like Benefit’s She’s So Jetset!, is perfect for travel.

3. When traveling internationally, I always keep my passport in a case with important documents. This ombre leather passport case from Matine is beautiful, stylish and functional.

4. Lastly, if you have a long plane trip or a lots of time on a beach blanket, reading material is required. I’m looking forward to reading The Interestings: A Novel by Meg Wolitzer while on vacation.
