The Makery

I have been living in North Carolina for a little over six months and have enjoyed every second of it. In my short time in the area, I have noticed there is no shortage of culture. I have fallen in love with many local artists’ work, including This Paper Ship and Ellie Snow of Hello Tenfold. Now three sisters are making North Carolina crafters and artisans more accessible.

I would like to introduce you to The Makery, the brain child of sisters Brita, Krista Anne, and Sarah Rose Nordgren, native North Carolinians. The Makery will feature art and crafts handmade in North Carolina. It will offer 1-3 items weekly at a slight discount. Sign up here for a first look at The Makery.

The sisters, artists and writers themselves, grew up in a community that supported the arts and fostered creativity. They wanted to connect artisans with a larger base of buyers and supporters, and so The Makery was born. You can support The Makery by donating to their Kickstarter campaign. To learn more about the project, check out their blog.

I look forward to the launch of the e-commerce site so I can send gifts with local flare to my family and friends who are not lucky enough to live in North Carolina.
