A Trip to Remember: Dominican Republic

Cotui, Dominican Republic village // Twin SripeHappy Monday, friends. I’m back from a wonderful trip to the Dominican Republic. I spent most of last week in the town of Cotui with two groups of Elon University Interactive Media graduate students. (I graduated from the same program in 2012.) The students spent most of their time gathering photos, interviews and learning about the culture of the country in order to build a website for their client. We also had a few adventures including attending a Dominican party complete with carnival costumes and local dancers and a visit to 27 Charcos to slide down some waterfalls!

I worked with a team (above) that will build an e-commerce website for a group of women that make beautiful tote bags from recycled plastic bags. I’ll be sure to share the site when it is live. I loved getting to work with the student’s and seeing them work together to create amazing results. I hope you enjoy some of the photos I took during my visit to this colorful country.

The Dominican Republic is a beautiful country and I cannot wait to return. So many people have very little, but yet everyone welcomed us with open arms and a smile on their face. I hope to share more about my trip very soon!
