On Friday, Alison started a new chapter in her life. She packed the contents of her apartment into a very little pod and headed to Wilmington for a brief time before she decides where she wants to move permanently. It was a sad day for me, but I looking forward to visiting her, where ever she ends up.
My weekend ended up being rather relaxed. Chad and I did a lot of cooking. We started the weekend by visiting the Piedmont Triad Farmer’s Market. We purchased berries, veggies and eggs. For lunch that day we got adventurous and made Jessica’s fontina and blackberry basil smash sandwiches. They were delicious! It might seem an unusual combination, but I highly recommend it. For Sunday brunch, we enjoyed breakfast pizzas, similar to this recipe from A Cozy Kitchen (although we didn’t grill ours). We also hit up a few stores in Mebane. I found this beautiful orange card file at Melville Trading Company. If only I had a use for it!
It’s true, I did pack my things into a very tiny pod. I was a little unsure whether it would all fit to be honest. I’ll be in Wilmington for a little while and look forward to spending some time with my family. This weekend was the lobster party. I had a great time tweeting photos and live pinning the party. The rest of the weekend I tried to relax after all the packing and moving. I picked up The Fault in Our Stars by John Green and have not been able to put it down. I’ve got about a quarter left to read, but so far, I definitely recommend it.
Have a great week!
