Spring break is finally here! It seems like we have been waiting for this moment since the semester began, although it is frightening at the same time, graduation is only two months away. This weekend we both got some much need rest and relaxation. We also spent our first weekend apart in a long time.
This weekend I traveled back to Wilmington. I enjoyed some quality time with my family and caught up on a few things. I also was lucky enough to be home while there was pop up art studio show. I visited the event presented by Little Luxuries with my mom on Saturday. It was held in a cool historic home turned studio located in downtown Wilmington. There was some really interesting art and I enjoyed pieces by Kelly Starbuck and Elizabeth Darrow.
I also had the opportunity to spend some of my St. Patrick’s Day with Melanie Blodgett from You Are My Fave. I took an online class with her as part of the Alt Summit Channel class series. The class was informative and I really enjoyed chatting with some of the other participants. I discovered two Portland ladies with fabulous blogs, Samantha Shorey and Bria Phillips at Love Joy.
I finished off the weekend doing some homework (spring break bummer, I know), completing an illustration for a friend that’s moving into her first home and a Carolina win!
I enjoyed a very low-key weekend, celebrating my birthday with my husband, Chad, since I will be in Chicago for my actual birthday. I spent a lot of time outside enjoying the beautiful spring weather. Chad made me breakfast-in-bed and we traveled to Raleigh to try Poole’s Diner for the first time. I highly recommend the mac and cheese!
I have been relaxing and preparing for the trip to Chicago. Other than the “tour de food” we have planned, it is Charlotte’s bachelorette party! (Charlotte is one of my best friends from college and beyond.) I have been working on a few fun party DIYs that I look forward to sharing in another blog post.
We look forward to sharing our Chicago adventure with you! Have a wonderful week.
