Add some fun and whimsey to your Easter brunch table with bunny ear napkin rings. They made the perfect addition to my floral Easter brunch I shared on Monday. You can easy whip these napkin rings up in day and have them ready for Sunday brunch. Kids and adults will love this special touch.
Materials:
- Empty paper towel tube
- 1 yr (or less) fabric that matches your brunch table
- Modge Podge for fabric
- Paint http://gsdbrush
- Scissors
- Cardstock
Begin this project by cutting your paper towel tube into 1-inch pieces and your fabric into 1 1/2 inch wide strips that will cover the outside of the tube. Next, brush a thin layer of Modge Podge onto your tube and apply the fabric strip. I like to fold one end of my fabric over to create a clean edge.
Once the fabric is secured to the outside of the tube, add a thin layer of glue to the extra material on the sides of the tube and fold it so it sticks to the inside of the tube.

While waiting for your ring to dry, you can create your bunny ears. I found that I needed two pieces of fabric glued back-to-back and a thin piece of cardstock in the middle to get the ears to stand up. I cut out all of my ears first and then glue them together, one side at a time. Be sure to leave about 1/8 inch of fabric unglued at the bottom of the bunny ear so you can easily attach it to the tube. When the bunny ear was dry, I cut any stray pieces of fabric off and sealed the edges one last time.
Once all of the pieces are dry, using the extra fabric at the bottom of the bunny ear, attach the ears to the napkin using a few layers of Modge Podge. Let the ears dry and your napkin rings are ready to go!
These bunny ring napkins will be the talk of your brunch table this Easter. I do love this project because it is so versatile – you can match it to any tablescape and you can easily ditch the bunny ears and make napkin rings for any occasion.
Will you be incorporating any bunny ears into your brunch table this Easter?
