Do you ever find yourself looking for a piece of paper to write a note on when you are running errands or out to dinner?
I’ve been guilty of writing notes on receipts or napkins and then I never see it again.
In an effort to have some paper with me at all times, I put together my own little matchbook notebooks. They are easy to assemble and work perfectly in a small purse or clutch, on your nightstand or anywhere else you might think of a brilliant idea that must be written down.

Materials
- Fall matchbook notebook download printed on card stock
- 3 pieces white printer paper
- Craft knife (or scissors)
- Ruler
- Cutting mat
- Stapler
To begin, print the cover template on card stock. Using a craft knife and ruler carefully trim around each cover. (You can also use scissors if preferred.) Fold the cover where the ink color changes. One side should be longer than the other. Fold the extra paper up, forming the lip of the matchbook.
Next, cut the white printer paper into 2 1/2″ x 6″ strips to create the inside pages of the notebook. In order for your white paper to fit perfectly into the matchbook, you might need to trim a bit off the pieces once they are cut out.
Fold the papers in half (to form 2 1/2″ x 3″ halves) and place into the matchbook. (I used 3 strips per book.) Secure the paper with a staple where the notebook folds in half. Tuck the cover under the lip and you have a handy matchbook notebook to keep with you at all times.

Who’s ready for another weekend?
I am! Tomorrow I’m heading to Raleigh to celebrate my cousin’s bachelorette party.
I’m looking forward to spending time with her and her girlfriends and painting the town red. I hope y’all have a great weekend too!
