Today is another installment of Behind the Blog! As a refresher, I’ve teamed up with some amazing bloggers from several different niches to share what happens behind the scenes of our blogs. Today we are sharing a peek into our workspaces.
All of the office photos were taken by the amazing Sara Wilson of Sara Logan Photography.
When we moved into our home in Greensboro, I was so excited to have a large office space I could make my own. I spend a lot of time in the office planning, blogging and creating for Twin Stripe and my web and social media biz. Keep on reading to learn about my office space and some of my favorite organizational tools, colorful decor and more!
On my desk
My work typically centers around my MacBook Pro. Until recently, I was working on a 5 year old laptop, but I got a brand new MacBook for my birthday. It was a much needed up grade! Now the programs I use most – Photoshop and Illustrator – run so much faster. I’m also looking forward to using it to start creating videos, my old laptop couldn’t handle video editing any more.
I love love love calendars and planners. I always have and always will. I’ve been on the search for the perfect paper planner for years and I think I’ve come pretty close with my discovery of the Get to Work Book. It was created by blogger, podcaster and creative entrepreneur Elise Blaha Cripe. I’m a huge fan of her podcast Elise Gets Crafty. I use this planner paired with Google Calendar.
I’m also a fan of to do lists. I have a variety of Rifle Paper notepads and post-its to keep all of my tasks in order. I have a large variety of colored pens, but when I need a classic ballpoint pen, Poppin pens are my go to. They write smoothly and come in a variety of colors.
I keep a selection of books on my desk supported by my adorable pig bookends. I’m always changing the books out depending on what I’m reading and what I might want to reference. Some of my current favorites are Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert, How to Style Your Brand by Fiona Humberstone and Mindy Kaling’s Why Not Me? Are you reading anything good right now?
On my walls
I’ve shared my gallery wall before, but I love it, so I’m sharing it again! Recently, I added an Oh Joy neon heart to wall. It adds a pop of fun to the wall!
