Is an Instant Pot Lid Dishwasher safe?
Let’s begin with answering this part of the question very confidently because I have done it myself as well.
And the answer to this part of the question is YES, an Instant Pot Lid is completely Dishwasher safe.
The parts of an Instant Pot that can be washed in the dishwasher without any hesitation are the inner pot, sealing ring and the lid.
The outer part of the Instant Pot should NOT be put inside the water as it contains the heating element of the pot and water could damage it. Lid and Inner Pot is, however, completely safe to be cleaned in a Dishwasher.
For the outer part, you can use a cloth to Clean it. A damp cloth will do the job very well.
Is there still any confusion regarding how to go ahead with cleaning an Instant Pot Lid?
If yes, Don’t worry.
In the next section of this article, I’ll provide you the step-wise procedure about the best way in which an Instant Pot Lid can be cleaned.
So, what are we waiting for?
Let’s move ahead…
What is the best way to clean an Instant Pot Lid?
In order to do the proper cleaning of the lid, you first need to separate each small part and then go ahead with eating it.
If you are making by hand, go ahead with eating each part individually to Clean it in an effective manner.
If you are planning to use the dishwasher to Clean it, you first have to put all the small parts and put it in a safe bag and then load them into the dishwasher.
Let’s go step by step with the process.
Step 1
The first step in order to clean the lid is to remove the float valve.
For doing this, you will find a Silicon cap at the bottom side of the lid.
Pull this Silicon cap out and then push the float valve to the other side. The float valve will get removed.
Step 2
The next step would be to remove the sealing ring.
You can do this by pulling it away from the sealing ring rack. I have one suggestion regarding the sealing ring.
It will be always good if you keep on changing the sealing ring every 12-18 months and it is also preferable to use different sealing rings for the sweet and savory dishes.
Step 3
After you are done with removing the sealing, go ahead with removing the last component i.e. the anti-block shield.
Once all the parts are separated, now it’s time to wash them.
Keep all the small parts in a dishwasher safe bag and the larger parts in a dishwasher to go ahead with the cleaning process.
Step 4
Once all the parts are clean and are completely dry, go ahead with putting the small parts back into the lid.
The procedure to put everything back into its place is to insert the float valve into the lid. Make sure that the smaller hole is facing upwards.
Once the float valve is properly inserted, turn the lid around and insert the Silicon cap.
Step 5
This is the final step in the process of cleaning the lid.
Now, go ahead with placing the sealing ring on the day sealing rack and gently press it in using your fingers.
Make sure that the sealing ring is clean and dry before putting it in the lid.
The sealing ring should be handled with utmost care both while pulling it out and inserting it in to ensure that no damage is done to it so as to avoid any sort of leakage.
Now, finally insert the last part i.e. the anti-block shield in the lid.
Place the shield on the prongs and press it in until it clicks in its place.
And with this we are done with the process of washing the lid.
I hope that the entire process is clear to all the readers.
The process is well tried by me personally and is completely authentic and effective.
You can, thus, surely go ahead with the above stated method of washing the lid with dishwasher.
But make sure that you do not insert the outer unit in the dishwasher as it can damage the heating unit of an Instant Pot.
You can go ahead with wiping it using the cloth material but the lid is completely safe to be washed in the dishwasher.
Now, I hope all the doubts in the minds of readers are clear.
If yes, you are all set to take the advantage of the benefits offered by an Instant Pot without worrying about how difficult and hectic it would be to clean it after use. Because now you know the easy way of cleaning it.
Thus, we can confidently go ahead with concluding the article.
